New Policy from the Evanston Economic Development
The Evanston Community Economic Development has issued a new policy effective September 6, 2006 concerning new construction of any single family home,townhouse or multi-family buildings.
Prior to any building permit being issued by the department, the developer must conduct a neighborhood meeting for the purpose of informing neighbors of what is being proposed in a development. This plan must be available for review by all neighbors. A flyer of the meeting and an attendance sheet of all neighbors must be presented to the building division permit desk prior to issuing a building permit.
